Severus Snape is a complex character first appearing in *Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone* (2001) movie, portrayed by Alan Rickman. He serves as a Potions Master and Head of Slytherin House at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Throughout the Harry Potter film series, Snape's allegiances remain ambiguous. He displays animosity towards Harry Potter, seemingly stemming from a past rivalry with Harry's father, James.
However, as the story unfolds, it is revealed that Snape held a deep and unrequited love for Harry's mother, Lily Potter.
